Covid-19: Algarve has another death, Alentejo increases number of infected

Data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health this Monday, 11 May

The Algarve has one more death caused by Covid-19 and two more infected, while the Alentejo registers as many new cases, according toin today's epidemiological bulletin, May 11, from the General Directorate of Health (DGS). Across the country, there are 27.679 confirmed cases, in numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic, and 1144 deaths (plus 9). Those recovered remain at 2549.

The Algarve now has 14 deaths, when since the 26th of April, the number stood at 13. In terms of infected people, the region also has two more cases, compared to this Sunday's data, making a total of 348. DGS bulletin, the new cases are in Albufeira and Loulé.

In Alentejo, there are now 237 (plus two) infected and there is only one death registered in this region.

With regard to recovered throughout the country, the number remains the same as yesterday: 2549.

As for the number of confirmed cases, it increased from 27.581 to 27.679 (plus 98).

 

 

By region, this is the distribution of the number of infected, in accumulated numbers since the beginning of the pandemic: North (16.008), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (7316), Center (3545), Algarve (348), Alentejo (237), Azores (135) and Madeira (90).

Today's bulletin also reports that there are 805 hospitalized people (8 more), 112 of which are in intensive care (the same number).

There are, at this moment, 2642 citizens awaiting laboratory results, while another 28.307 are contacts under surveillance by the health authorities.

As of January 1, the total number of suspected cases was 276.153, but 245.832 of those have not been confirmed.
