Câmara de Lagoa donates protection equipment to IPSS with day care center

Seven institutions were benefited

The Câmara de Lagoa yesterday delivered 14 thousand units of Personal Protective Equipment (EPI) to seven Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS) in the municipality.

With the opening of day care centers and kindergartens scheduled for May 18th and «after the municipality of Lagoa has been committed over the last month to providing thousands of units of protective equipment to various institutions in the municipality of Lagoa, it has now arrived the turn of the IPSS with the valence of a crèche», announced the municipality of Lagos.

Throughout yesterday morning, sets of masks, goggles, visors, gloves and protective caps were distributed to these institutions, by a delegation that was attended by the president and vice president of the Municipality of Lagoa, the presidents of the Board and Parish Unions of the municipality, the president of the Rotary Club Internacional de Lagoa Francofono and the municipal coordinator of Civil Protection.

 




 

These PPE were delivered to the Support Center for the Elderly of Ferragudo (CAIF), the Cultural and Sports Association CHE Lagoense (ACD), the Sports and Recreational Association of Quinta de S. Pedro (ADR), the Parish Center of Estombar, the Center Popular de Lagoa and the Social Support Centers of Carvoeiro and Porches (CASC and CASP).

For Luís Encarnação, mayor of Lagoa, it is «essential care and prevention that can lead us to win the war that has not yet been won».

«The Municipality of Lagoa counts on the civic spirit of everyone in this phase of disarray, but the community also counts on the municipality. We will continue not to leave anyone behind”, said the mayor of Lagos, who took the opportunity to monitor in loco the operating conditions of these IPSS that provide relevant services to the local community.
