95% of homes in Lagos will have fiber optic coverage by the end of the year

By June 19 more homes will have a fiber optic network

By the end of this year, 95% of homes in the municipality of Lagos will have fiber optic coverage, reported this Monday, the company dstelecom, which is carrying out the installation.

According to the company, which supplies this network to telecommunications operators, "the first 19 homes will be available until June in the parishes of Luz, Odiáxere and São Gonçalo de Lagos (Santa Maria and São Sebastião)."

The installation process, stresses dstelecom, «is already underway, despite the slowdown felt due to the pandemic period we are going through».

In a second phase, there will be a reinforcement of 9 houses in Odiáxere and São Sebastião.

Altogether, according to dstelecom, «about 28 thousand homes in the municipality of Lagos» «will be able to contract telecommunications services with more speed, greater bandwidth, better coverage and higher quality in 2020» .

Availability of fiber network coverage can be consulted here.

According to dstelecom, this expansion, «aligned with the purpose of taking fiber optics to locations with less population density, contributes not only to the settlement of the population, but also to the creation of new opportunities for the region, becoming attraction and thus increasing economic and social benefits'.
