Portimão municipality delivers four more ventilators to the city's hospital

The municipality also bought a Pulmovista, "different medical equipment unique in the region and one of the few in the country"

This afternoon, the Municipality of Portimão delivered four more ventilators to the Hospital de Portimão, eight of which have been used so far. units granted to CHUA – University Hospital Center of the Algarve.

The municipality of Portimo invested the 350 thousand euros destined to the Grand Prix of Portugal Formula 1 in Motornautics, which was cancelled, to acquire 24 fans of different types, "some of which are state-of-the-art and innovative in Portugal due to the state-of-the-art technology used".

"The measure aims to contribute to facing the Covid-19 pandemic in the Algarve region, particularly in the municipality, as of today, two more fans will also be available to the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Portimão", explains the municipality.

The remaining intensive care ventilators will arrive in the coming weeks, together with a Pulmovista, "different medical equipment unique in the region and one of the few in the country, which, by itself, represents an investment of more than 50 thousand euros", reveals the Portimão Chamber.
