Covid-19 tests carried out on users and employees of nursing homes at Misericórdias de Alvor and Castro Marim were all negative.
In Alvor, the tests carried out on 68 employees and users of this home, by the Covid 70+ team of the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC), all were negative, according to a note by Mário de Freitas, provider of Santa Casa da Misericórdia in that village in the municipality of Portimão.
In Castro Marim, the negative result of the screening carried out by the ABC team was announced by Mayor Francisco Amaral on Facebook. “All the analyzes carried out at the Santa Casa da Misericórdia home in Castro Marim gave negative results”, announced the mayor.
The Covid 70+ project is the result of a partnership between ABC, the University of Algarve and the Ministry of Social Security and has a preventive nature.
So far, of the analyzes carried out in nursing homes in 14 Algarve municipalities, only in the Home of Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Boliqueime had positive results, with 37 users and employees infected with Covid-19.
