Aquaquiz returns to teach students the importance of saving water

This competition is aimed at students, teachers and schools from the 2nd and 3rd cycles of Basic Education across the country.

The second edition of the national competition of Aquaquiz, an interactive game that aims to make students aware of the importance of saving water, runs until the 27th of March.

This competition is aimed at students, teachers and schools from the 2nd and 3rd cycles of Basic Education across the country.

This interactive and educational game, in quiz format, aims to support education and awareness of the value of water, being available online and in a smartphone application to be played by anyone.

Designed to be played in a classroom environment in the “Virtual Board” format, accessible here, the game consists of a quiz with questions related to different dimensions of water, covering subjects from the syllabus of the two educational cycles grouped into four categories: Blue Planet, Aqua Lab, Water Factories and Efficient Use.

In addition to the virtual board, which can be played by groups of two to five players, the game is available in a mobile application (app) for smartphones (iOS e Android) to be played in a “Battle” format between two players.

Launched in February last year, it is one of the tools provided by the AdP – Águas de Portugal Group to support participatory teaching practices that promote the value of water in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

For the 2nd edition of the national competition, new questions were added and a upgrade on the platform to allow teachers to participate with suggested questions to integrate in the quiz.

Since its launch, the game has already had around 450 registered schools and more than 3820 registered users, with a total of more than 30 games played (19.400 board games and 11.431 battles) in about 12 months.
