Ferragudo's lifeguard saves a man from a boat that overturned in the Arade

No medical assistance was needed

Ferragudo Lifeguards rescued this Tuesday morning, February 18, a 53-year-old man who was in a boat that overturned on the Arade river.

The accident happened when the boat "impacted on a platform that was anchored", explains the National Maritime Authority (AMN).

Following the collision, the fishing vessel heeled, eventually overturning. The crew member managed to abandon the boat, having climbed onto the platform, where he awaited assistance.

Once there, the elements of the Ferragudo Life-Saving Station collected the crew member, who did not need medical assistance, and towed the vessel to the beach in order to avoid sinking.
