In the next picnics, the dishes may be different, but the idea is the same.

“The event begins with a short interpretive journey to the picnic site, with the presence of a representative of the local community who will talk informally about some peculiarities of the region”, describes the QRER.

Arriving at the picnic site, "an emblematic or magical place", the participants will be directed to their places, either on the floor (on blankets) or on tables and benches (in the picnic park), depending on the location in question.

«At that moment, the Head will explain the meal's menu, as well as the local and traditional products that were used in its preparation. All explanations will be translated into English by a Master of Ceremonies who will be present at all actions, available to clarify all foreign and national participants in case of doubts», added the event organizers.

To help the food go down harmoniously, there will be music, with the accordion being the instrument of choice.

«Each experience is unrepeatable, unique, shared and representative of food, memories and more or less forgotten places in the Algarve», concluded the QRER.

The Forgotten Food Festival will end on May 16th, with the event “Na Casa da Dona Glória”, in Querença.
