Fernando Daniel and Nelson Freitas will give concerts at the Monchique Sausages Fair, which takes place on the 7th and 8th of March.
In search of tradition and, through units specially designed for this event, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the most typical flavors of the local cuisine.
In addition to gastronomy, handicrafts also have a strong presence, with stands dedicated to sweets, arbutus, bread and other products, generating «an event that brings together other economic activities», says the Monchique Chamber.
Children will have a privileged area in this 27th edition. The “Espaço Bolota”, specially created with the little ones in mind, will provide workshops on the pig.
These expressive and creative workshops will allow the child to integrate this knowledge in a playful way, working creatively.
The event includes the “Praça Sabores”, the restaurant area that brings together several gastronomic proposals.
Visitors can also watch and participate in the “Cooking Laboratory – Sharing Knowledge and Flavors” promoted by Tertúlia Algarvia, with Monchique sausages as the main focus of creation and confection. They will take place, on both days, at 11:00 am.
In terms of musical entertainment, this year's edition offers a poster with a concert by Fernando Daniel, on March 7, at 22 pm, and another by Nelson Freitas, on March 00, at 8 pm.
During the event, the Lima Duque Prize awarded to a sausage producer will be awarded, with the aim of perpetuating the memory of Dr. Luís Fernando Maia de Lima Duque, a veterinarian and person who has always been linked to this fair.
One of the strong points of this edition will be the realization of the program “Aqui Portugal” on RTP, on the 7th. This program, which promotes the biggest popular festivals, will give even more music and entertainment to the Feira dos Enchidos.
Organized by the Municipality of Monchique, the event takes place from 10:00 am to 23:00 pm on the 7th, and from 10:00 am to 21:00 pm on the 8th, at the Municipal Heliport.
