Loulé Chocolate Fair returns to sweeten everyone's mouths

The event is organized by the municipal company Loulé Concelho Global and runs daily from 10:00 am to 19:00 pm.

The 10th edition of the Loulé Chocolate Fair takes place from the 8th to the 16th of February, this time at the Cerca do Convento Espírito Santo and not at the Mercado, as was usual.

As a result of the works for the creation of a food court, taking place inside the Municipal Market of Loulé, the organization chose an open-air space, in the heart of the city, in a wider area, to hold this event that , over the years, has gained numerous adherents.

The 10th Chocolate Fair Mercado de Loulé will feature 27 exhibitors from the county, the Algarve and other parts of the country, who will present creations with what is one of the most appreciated products in sweets around the world. Black, white, milk, with nuts, orange or pepper, on a tablet, truffles, on a slice of cake, on a pizza, on sushi, in a fondue with fruit or on a crepes.

There are several presentations, colors and flavors that these “artisans” bring to this event, but always with the same common point: the use of chocolate as the main ingredient.

Creativity and imagination have no limits at this fair and, given the versatility of the product, in addition to gastronomy, it is also intended to make known other uses of chocolate, such as its tourist potential, using it in conjunction with other local products .

This edition of the Chocolate Fair Mercado de Loulé will feature musical moments starring students from the Music Conservatory of Loulé Francisco Rosado, the Artistas de Minerva Philharmonic Band, among others.

For the first time, a social space will also be created, with tables and chairs, where visitors will be able to taste the chocolate delights that the exhibitors will sell.

This year there will be greater concern with environmental issues at this event, and a campaign to reduce plastic will be underway, with the use of glasses, plates and cutlery in compostable material, as well as an action to raise awareness about the consumption of water in the faucet.

The program “Domingo à Tarde”, on RTP1, will broadcast live from the Chocolate Fair.

The event is organized by the municipal company Loulé Concelho Global, and runs daily from 10:00 am to 19:00 pm.

Admission is free.
