Ricardo Teodósio and José Teixeira want two-time national rally championship in 2020

Dupla algarvia has Vito as its new project partner

The national rally champion team in title, commanded by the Algarve driver Ricardo Teodósio, presented this Saturday, at the premises of Central Lobão, in São João de Ver (Santa Maria da Feira), its sports project for the Portuguese Rally Championship.

Team Vito Skoda bets on Ricardo Teodósio, José Teixeira and the Skoda Fabia R5 Evo to revalidate the title in the most important and well-known national championship.

The Algarve duo showed the colors and goals of Team Vito Skoda, who will enter the Skoda Fabia R5 Evo again prepared and assisted by the experienced ARC Sport.

“The fact that we were champions hasn't changed our posture and our goals at all,” said Ricardo Teodósio. “We are going into the new season with the same intention of fighting for victory in each rally, knowing that nowadays it is necessary to go deep in each kilometer of each section. CPR is very competitive and our direct opponents also know that they will have to count on us in the fight for the title”, added the Algarve driver.

On the other hand, “it was very important for us to have a new partner on the project, joining the group of companies that have trusted us in recent years. It is synonymous with the fact that we are working with professionalism and ambition, and that we have presented good sporting results and an excellent return”, said the popular Guia driver.

Ricardo Teodósio also recalled that rallying in Portugal generated 34 million euros of media return in 2019, according to FPAK data.

The navigator José Teixeira remains a key part of the team and is confident in the arguments of Team Vito Skoda. “This is a project of technical and sporting continuity, but where we had the reinforcement of the support of the brand and other very important partners for us”, he revealed.

“That gives us even more motivation to do our homework and that's the only way to achieve victories and titles. I don't hide that we want to be two-time champions, but the last championships have been very balanced, with several teams with the same objective and 2020 should be no exception”, concluded José Teixeira.

In 2020, the Portuguese Rally Championship will have a calendar consisting of 10 races, but competitors will only be able to participate in a maximum of eight rallies, then choosing the seven best scores. The competition starts on the 28th and 29th of February, in the traditional Rali Serras de Fafe and Felgueiras.
