This is the preview made by Meteofontes and which will be detailed in the coming days.

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), “from next Friday, the 21st, the weather in mainland Portugal will be influenced by an anticyclone located in the Bay of Biscay. Thus, days of generally clear skies are foreseen, with light to moderate wind from the eastern quadrant, blowing in a breezy regime during the afternoon on the coast».

The days will be hot and the nights cold, and the maximum temperature should register values between 20 and 23 degrees, being lower inside with values between 15 and 20 degrees.

The minimum temperature should present values between 7 and 12 degrees, being lower in the North and Center interior with values between 2 and 6 degrees.

«This scenario is expected to continue until Monday, the 24th, and there is currently some uncertainty regarding the forecast for the Tuesday of Carnival, the 25th, with a possible weakening of the anticyclone and the approach of a cold frontal surface to the continent. », says the IPMA.

The probability of precipitation occurrence for the 25th in the North and Center regions varies between 10 and 30%, being the probability lower than these values in the South region.

Until Sunday, the 23rd, the south coast should record waves from the southeast with 1 to 2 meters and the west coast should record waves from the northwest with 2 to 3 meters.
