365Algarve features used object theater, forgotten food and much more

there is a lot to see and feel

A used objects theatre, the Forgotten Food Festival or “Em Canto pela Algarviana”. These are some of the shows from 365Algarve that will animate from the 16th to the 23rd of February.

From the 21st to the 23rd, Aljezur welcomes Deux Pierres, a «wonderful theater of used objects, taken from forgotten drawers: old clothes pegs, bits of thread and twine, wooden beams and trunks washed by the sea and the wind, carved fruit cores», according to 365Algarve.

Fascinated by the poetry of assemblies improbable and due to the fatigue of the objects he works with, Michel Laubu builds an imaginary people, coming from Turákia, in a kind of visual recital of the arrivals and departures of angels, potatoes and many other (in)significances. This will be another show of “Lavrar o Mar”.

“Diz-me, António”, the contemporary dance show inspired by António Aleixo's universe, in a tribute to his birth and work, continues on its journey. This time, on February 22nd, it passes through Lagos where three creators/interpreters gather to reflect on the Algarve poet.

In Canto pela Algarviana, in turn, it will combine “choir music from different origins, with tours in specific sections of the Via Algarviana, through different Algarve municipalities. It is a project that aims to associate musical and cultural heritage with natural heritage, valuing traditions and the richness of biodiversity in the Algarve interior. All enhanced by the possibility of delighting in the local cuisine, in restaurants associated with the project».

On the 23rd of February, in Alcoutim, the walk begins at 9:30 am at the Embarque Wharf and runs along the Lourinhã Pedestrian Route (Smuggler Route). At 15:00 pm there is a concert at Espaço Guadiana.

On February 23, the Forgotten Food Festival will arrive in Aljezur with the “Routes for Harvesting and Cooking”. Around family gardens and other cultivation spaces and with the support of local hosts and storytellers, traditional ingredients are collected, some of which are little known to the public, which are then used in a cooking class.

The hosts guide the participants on an interpretive tour around the surrounding territory, focusing on the ways of life and the history of the garden and its products. The collected ingredients are used to prepare a seasonal dish of traditional Algarve cuisine in the surroundings of the same location.
