Gastronomy, customs, traditions and the natural beauty of the beaches and cliffs. This – and much more – fits in the broadcasts of the program “Mais Você”, dedicated to the Algarve, which will air from 20 January on the Globo Now channel.
In the twenty years of the existence of 'Mais Você', the Algarve was the only region that the program's team did not yet know. This was one of the reasons that led Ana Maria Braga, presenter of the format, and part of the program's team, including the famous parrot Louro José, to cross the Atlantic and travel to the Algarve.
«When we celebrated the 20th anniversary of 'Mais Você', we thought it was a good idea to celebrate that date by going to Portugal, more precisely to the only area of the country where we had not been, which is the Algarve».
Even because, he argues, the Algarve region is «a charming place, with incredible natural landscapes. I think the great attraction, besides the fish and the peculiar gastronomy, is the sea».
The team of 'Mais Você', a program that can be seen exclusively in Portugal on the Globo Now channel, from Monday to Friday, at 14 pm, visited places like Albufeira, Faro, Loulé, Portimão, Olhão and Tavira. The presenter does not spare praise for the Portuguese people, which she considers to be "very affectionate".
«In all the places in Portugal where I went, I always took the best impressions», he emphasizes.
These programs are part of the program's 20th anniversary celebrations, which are being celebrated throughout this year. The first issue of 'Mais Você' was aired on October 18, 1999.
