Prevention of occupational accidents in the forest discussed in Marmelete

Technical seminars are aimed, above all, at professionals in the forestry sector

The “Safety and Prevention of Accidents at Work in the Forest” will be the theme of some technical conferences that will take place on Thursday, January 9th, from 9:00 am, at Casa do Povo de Marmelete, in this town in the municipality of Monchique .

This is an initiative “aimed mainly at professionals in the forestry sector, but also at those interested in these themes”. Participation is free, but registration is mandatory, and must be made online.

"The theme of accidents related to forestry activity has been recurrent all over the country, resulting in permanent injuries or even fatalities, with a growing concern to alert the various professionals in the forestry sector (among them our service providers) to the safety of its workers and prevent potential accidents arising from their activity”, according to “2BForest”, which supports the “Forest Stewardship Council – FSC Portugal” in promoting the event.

Monchique was chosen to carry out these technical journeys due to the fact that it is «a predominantly forestry municipality».

The “Safety and Prevention of Accidents at Work in the Forest” conferences are organized by the “Forest Stewardship Council – FSC Portugal”, in partnership with the certification company “2BForest”, the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT) and the Associação dos Forest Producers of the Barlavento Algarvio (ASPAFLOBAL).
