Ofélia Ramos, social-democrat deputy in the Assembly of the Republic, was re-elected president of the PSD/Faro in the elections that took place this Saturday, January 11th.
Ophelia headed the only candidate list.
The Algarve parliamentarian maintains her two vice-presidents: Bruno Lage, current president of the União de Freguesias de Faro (Sé and São Pedro), and Henrique Gomes, Chief of Staff to the President of the Chamber of Faro.
The treasurer will be Elisabete Vargues, who already holds this position in the União das Freguesias de Faro, and as council secretary the association leader João Gameiro Alves remains.
The elected list has as effective members Carlos Baía, Paulo Botelho, Francisco Soares, Graciano Bitoque, José Carlos Jardim de Sousa, Teresa Correia, Virgínia Alpestana and João Alcanena. The alternates are Pedro Nunes, Maria Eugénia Quintanilha, Pedro Cláudio and Catarina Santos.
Cristóvão Norte (chairman), José Carlos Gonçalves Júnior (vice-chairman), Cristina Soeiro (secretary) and Luciano Santos (alternate) were elected for the Board of the Section Assembly.
The only competing list of delegates to the 38th PSD Congress, which will take place in February in Viana do Castelo, was also elected, with the names of João Gameiro Alves, Henrique Gomes, Bruno Lage, Paulo Botelho, Elisabete Vargues and Cláudia Luz .
Finally the militants of Faro elected the delegates to the District Assembly: Henrique Gomes, Carlos Luís, João Gameiro Alves, Tiago Botelho, Teresa Correia, João Dias, Francisco Soares, Cláudia Luz, Paulo Botelho, Jardim de Sousa, Elisabete Vargues, Virgínia Alpestana, Marcos Guia and Bruno Lage .
The alternates are João Nuno Neves, Gonçalo Santos, Catarina Santos, Pedro Cláudio and Ilídia Sério.
In a press release, «the PSD of Faro he thanks all the militants who went to exercise their right to vote and declares their willingness to continue to support the elected mayors in our constituency and to prepare the Municipalities of 2021».

This Saturday, in addition to the election of Fábio Bota as president of the PSD/Loulé, there were also elections in the PSD, at the national level, which pitted Rui Rio, Luís Montenegro and Miguel Pinto Luz face to face.
