Portuguese-Canadian raped and held captive two women in Albufeira

Man had already been convicted of murder in Canada

He took two women home to Albufeira after meeting them in bars, forcing them to have sex with him. Then he kept them in captivity: one for five days and the other for over a month. These are the suspicions that fall under a Portuguese Canadian, aged 35, who is in preventive detention, announced this Thursday, January 9, the Public Ministry (MP).

O man had already been arrested last Tuesday, January 7th, at your house.

According to the MP, the facts date back to April and May. At the time, after meeting the two women, the man took them to his house.

There, "he repeatedly attacked and threatened the victims, forcing them to have sex with him," says the MP, in a note issued today, January 9th.

According to SIC Notícias, the first case took place in April, with a Brazilian woman who, after five days, managed to escape, on an outing with the suspect to Boliqueime. He later complained to the PSP.

The second case happened in May with a British woman and takes on (even) more macabre contours. After the woman had been in captivity for several days, they both went to Forum Algarve, in Faro.

Then, desperate, the woman wrote a note in English, with a request for help, which she handed to a restaurant employee, says SIC Notícias.

The job ended up calling the PSP who identified the man at the scene. The Portuguese-Canadian citizen assured that the woman was with him, of her own free will, but when she went to the police station, she reported the attacks, violations and threats she had suffered.

In the home of this man, who had already been convicted in Canada, of murder, objects used in the commission of crimes were found, as well as a replica of a 9mm caliber firearm.
