Artificial intelligence is the subject of a training workshop at UAlg

Session is aimed at entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, students and university professors

Artificial intelligence will be the subject of a training workshop that Algarve STP (Systems and Technology Partnership) will promote on January 23, between 9:30 am and 17:30 pm, in rooms 0.5 and 0.6 of the amphitheater building of the Campus Pedagogical Complex of Penha of the University of Algarve, in Faro.

The workshop “Artificial Intelligence”, which will be animated by Fraunhofer Portugal, is free and is aimed at entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs, as well as university students and professors.

The workshop will be organized in two groups: a session for technicians with programming experience and a session for administrators, managers and entrepreneurs.

Although it is free of charge, the session has a maximum number of participants, so interested parties must answer a questionnaire available online.

«Artificial intelligence is today a frequent topic of debate at a scientific and business level, and there are multiple interpretations and uses of this terminology», framed Algarve STP.

Hence, the association, in partnership with the University of Algarve, has decided to move forward with this training action. The event is also promoted «with a view to promoting the regional ecosystem and the dynamics of the Algarve Tech Hub».

As for the entity chosen to dynamize the session, Fraunhofer Portugal, whose mission is “to develop research with practical applicability for economic development and improve the lives of populations, currently materialized through the research center Fraunhofer Portugal Research Center for Assistive Information and Communication Solutions (FhP-AICOS), located in Porto. This center was created in 2009 following a partnership between the Fraunhofer Society (Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft), the Foundation for Science and Technology and the University of Porto».

«With a team of around 80 contracted researchers and a portfolio of clients from various business areas such as health, agriculture, trade and retail or energy, FhP-AICOS has consolidated competences in the areas of User-Centered Design, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber-physical systems,” added the association.

The session is organized by Associação Algarve STP, under the KCITAR project, financed by the CRESC Algarve program and is part of the cycle “Ecosystem of Innovation in the Algarve”.
