António Costa will open a congress at ANAFRE in Portimão

Prime Minister António Costa will participate this Friday, 24 January, in the opening session of the XVII National Congress of ANAFRE (National Parish Association), in Portimão Arena. 

The session is scheduled for 17:00 and will also feature the participation of Diamantino Santos, president of the Congress, Álvaro Bila, president of the Parish Council of Portimão, Pedro Cegonho, president of the ANAFRE Board of Directors and Isilda Gomes, president of the City Council of Portimão.

«'Parish: Closer and more solidary. More decentralization!' is the motto chosen to convey the idea of ​​community development and territorial cohesion, in a joint concern for reform that is decentralized and, therefore, closer to the citizens», says ANAFRE.

“Decentralization plays an important role as a driver for the development of the interior, both in terms of municipalities and parishes, because skills are now closer to people, through municipalities and parishes,” he says.

Fernando Negrão, Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic, Jorge Botelho, Secretary of State for Decentralization and Local Administration, Diamantino Santos, Álvaro Bila, Pedro Cegonha and Isilda Gomes will be present at the closing ceremony.
