The cycle “Acordes na Aldeia” is back at the Casa do Povo of Santo Estêvão, in the municipality of Tavira, and has names like Manel Cruz and O Gajo.
According to the Casa do Povo of Santo Estêvão, "it is about continuing the programming cycle started last year and which achieved such good results."
In this second edition, the guest musicians have in common their preference for the guitar, an instrument that they do not do without. Each one with their own approaches that characterize their work.
On January 25th, he performs “O Gajo”, created by João Morais in 2016, with the aim of connecting his music to the land that saw him born.
«This is how his connection to the campaniça viola, an instrument of traditional roots that is part of Portuguese cultural history, comes about in a very unique approach», says the Casa do Povo of Santo Estêvão.
On the 29th of February, Mário Delgado & Carlos Barretto perform – «two fundamental and virtuous Portuguese jazz musicians with over twenty years of musical experience together».
«In this partnership they bring us an acoustic format, reduced to a duo and without filters, alternating free improvisation with old standards, like a song by Jorge Palma or a lazy “Giant steps” in two-step».
Finally, on the 7th of March, at the concert that marks the 77th anniversary of the Casa do Povo of Santo Estêvão, Manel Cruz will take the stage.
The singer of Ornatos Violeta had a show scheduled for November 9th last year, but he canceled it due to health reasons.
Now, Manel Cruz will give this show, in which he will present “Vida Nova”, a work that, after a hiatus of seven years, marks the return of the singer of Ornatos Violeta, Pluto, Foge Foge Bandido and Supernada.
Acordes na Aldeia has the support of the Municipality of Tavira and the Parish of Luz de Tavira and Santo Estevão.
