Portimão already has a new creative writing club for young people

The initiative is aimed at young people aged 12 and over

Portimão already has, since December 13th, a new creative writing club for young people. 

The initiative, aimed at young people aged 12 and over, takes place at the Municipal Library of Portimão, every two weeks, on Fridays, from 18:30 pm to 19:30 pm.

The Creative Writing Club for Youth will be a means for participants to convey, according to its principles, their ideas and feelings, based on words.

«The aim of this club is to create habits and writing routines that can be ingrained and further developed over time by all those who wish to do so», stresses Analita Santos, responsible for the initiative.

Over six sessions, participants will be able to write, read and talk in a relaxed way about their literary creations.

In this first level, which will run from December 13th to March 20th, participants will get to know the world of creative writing, through the use of specific themes and creative exercises, such as the fantastic binomial, unlocking creativity, observation and sensory writing, narrative structure, character creation and bibliotherapy.

Every month, participants will be invited to write a text in light of a theme presented during the session. The text will then be published online at www.oprazerdaescrita.com.

The sessions will be conducted by Analita Santos. After a degree in Marketing and a Post-Graduate in Management, she worked in the travel sector, event organization, was a trainer, also holding positions in Marketing and Communication in the area of ​​Tourism, with writing always present as ghostwriter

After 20 years of anonymous writing, Analita Santos published her first children's book in 2018, followed by the publication of two fictional stories for adults.

The Algarve writer is finalizing the second book of the children's trilogy “A Irmandade da Rocha”, dedicated to the problem of pollution of the sea by plastic, among other projects related to writing and training for adults and children.

The 2nd edition of his book “A Irmandade da Rocha” was, moreover, presented on December 14, at 16 pm, at “Atelier Miúdos e Graúdos” in the Municipal Library of Portimão.

Participation in the Creative Writing Club for Young People is free, but subject to registration, with a maximum limit of 15 participants.
