A 71-year-old man fell into the Arade River this Thursday, December 26, while riding a bicycle in Portimão.
The fall took place between "the railway bridge and the road bridge", known as the old bridge, said the National Maritime Authority, in a statement.
After having fallen, a popular person who was on the spot with his boat provided the first support until the arrival of the Ferragudo lifeguard.
After the rescue, the man refused medical assistance and continued on his journey.
