Study on Local Accommodation in the Algarve presented in Albufeira

Study was commissioned by AHRESP

The first study on local accommodation in the Algarve will be presented on Thursday, the 5th, at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium, at 14 pm.

The session, which will be promoted by AHRESP – Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Similar, which commissioned the study, will feature Adolfo Mesquita Nunes, former Secretary of State for Tourism, as the main commentator.

The session will also feature José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, Ana Jacinto, secretary general of AHRESP, Cristóvão Lopes, president of the Algarve delegation of AHRESP and Hélia Gonçalves Pereira, of ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, who will present the study.

«Which services do Local Accommodation (LA) managers in the Algarve miss most? What are the biggest doubts of LA managers? In which municipalities are there more AL in the Algarve? Which modalities of AL are more frequent? What do AL guests value? How much does an AL tourist spend daily? And what is its true economic impact? How many direct, indirect and induced jobs depend on AL in the Algarve?” are some of the questions that this study, promoted by AHRESP, intends to answer.

This work was developed within the scope of the QUALITY Program – Valorization and Qualification of Local Accommodation, by AHRESP and carried out by the Marketing FutureCast Lab of ISCTE, divided into two major themes: the Economic Impact of AL in the Algarve and the Characterization of Accommodation, of Owners and the Guests of AL in the Algarve.
