From December 5st to December 8th

A new batch of sessions d'“The Gift of Caesar”, in Alferce, but also gastronomy, hiking, choral singing and street art are the suggestions for the “365Algarve” program until Sunday, the 8th.

Starting on Thursday, the 5th, César Troia will once again tell his story and the adventures he lived in distant lands, in new sessions of “O Presente de César”, a show with the Lavrar o Mar stamp, from this made at the Casa do Povo of Alferce, in Monchique. The play goes on stage until Sunday, always at 19:30 pm.

In this piece, we talk about “cod, the most Portuguese of fish that speak Norwegian, the lands of Aljezur and the banks of Newfoundland, off the coast of Canada”, according to “365Algarve”, which supports this event.

On December 7th, on Faro, the show “Diz-me, António” is premiered, inspired by the universe of António Aleixo, “in a tribute to his birth and his work”.

With artistic direction and interpretation by Armando Correia, Carolina Cantinho and Pedro Pinto, this piece brings together «movement, word and music in search of a performance poetics», bringing together the three creators/interpreters in a reflection on the Algarve poet.

Also on Saturday, in Lagos, the Street Art Lab «invites you to discover the murals of this canvas city through a guided tour of the local urban art works».

The program integrates experimentation and creation activities, guided by a guest artist. Materials such as stencils, paints, spray, paper, among others, will be made available, and at the end, the participant can keep the creative work they have done.

On Sunday, the 8th, in Loulé, is the day of “Em Canto pela Algarvia”, an initiative that “combines choral music from different origins with tours in specific sections of the Via Algarviana”.

This activity invites participants to walk through sector 7 of the Via Algarviana, between Benafim and Alte, «with the possibility of getting to know not only the cultural and natural heritage of the region, but also the local cuisine, in restaurants associated with the project. It ends with a concert by the Grupo Coral Ossónoba at the Igreja Matriz in Alte».

Nearby, in the village of Tôr, in the same municipality, there are “Hour and Cooking Routes – Forgotten Food Festival“. Here, the public will collect traditional ingredients, «some little known to the public, which will then be used in a cooking class. Local hosts guide participants on an interpretive tour around the surrounding territory, focusing on the ways of life and the history of the garden and its products».

The collected ingredients will be used to prepare a seasonal dish of traditional Algarve cuisine in the surroundings of the same location. «It will be a moment of sharing knowledge and stories, in an environment of co-creation of experiences», summarized “365Algarve”.
