Portimonense beats Famalicão and escapes to the bottom of the table

This night, Portimonense beat Famalicão by 2-1, in a game of the 12th round of the Primeira Liga, played at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão. With this victory, which had eluded him for over three months.

After several threats against the northerners' goal, the first goal for the Algarve was scored by Dener, in the 33rd minute. After a late cross from Aylton on the right, Dener appears at the entrance to the area shooting into the back of the net and beating Defendi.

In the second-half, the home team's second goal came, converting a penalty. On 70 minutes, Roderick knocked Aylton down in the area, the referee immediately signaled the maximum punishment, a decision corroborated by the VAR.

The penalty ended up being transformed by Fábio Martins, at 93′. Ricardo Ferreira still defended Fábio Martins' first shot in the penalty spot, but the Fabio player, in the reload, did the same.

When the curtain fell, Rômulo still tried a last shot, but the northerners' guardian defended.

With this victory, Portimonense ascends to 14th place, with a total of 11 points, three above the waterline. In the next round, Saturday, António Folha's team has a difficult trip to Guimarães, where they will face the local victory.
