PADRE helps Alcoutim attract more companies to the Industrial Park

Chamber will "create life, to attract more life"

Alcoutim City Council will proceed with the construction of a pavilion in the municipality's Industrial Park and will count on the financial support of PADRE – Action Plan for the Development of Endogenous Resources to carry out this work, costing around 232 euros.

The municipality's commitment aims, "in essence, to create life, to attract more life", he explained to the Sul Informação the president of the Chamber of Alcoutim Osvaldo Gonçalves.

“It's almost a turnkey solution for anyone who wants to settle here. It may even be more than one company, it depends on many things, the size and type of business, among others. But I believe that after the space is completed and prepared for lease, interested parties will not be absent," he said.

To carry out this work, the Alcoutim Chamber submitted an application to the PADRE for «construction of a building where a company or a local entrepreneur can be installed, allowing for the creation of jobs or self-employment, the appearance of new products underlying the resources. endogenous, as well as the improvement of some that already exist, as a way of boosting the local economy, instilling mercantile and business dynamics in the territory, in addition to the public initiative, promoted by the municipality of Alcoutim», described the Chamber in a press release. .

«This project is the result of a strategy that we started some time ago, in the sense of creating within the Industrial Park some buildings that are attractive for the installation of businesses and that make it possible for others to come», said the edil alcoutenejo.

The lots in this Industrial Park, where two companies are already installed, were sold for one euro per square meter, which «in itself is a great incentive», considered Osvaldo Gonçalves.

There are currently two companies installed in this park, “Dandlen & Vasques”, a spin-off from the University of the Algarve dedicated to the production of essential oils, and Caetano Costa e Costa, in the civil construction sector.

To be built, but already allocated, there are also lots destined to a gas park, metalwork/carpentry, gas station, research, production and transformation of aromatic and medicinal plants, beekeeping and game exploration.

The municipality has reserved for itself two lots in the Industrial Park, for the installation of this type of infrastructure. One advances now, the other will be built "as soon as there are opportunities and conditions".

“Of course, we hope that, with this, the owners of the other lots will feel compelled to settle there. We are creating this stimulus and incentive for others to settle there and in the sense of dynamizing the park itself», framed the mayor of Alcoutim.

To erect the new pavilion, the Alcouteneja autarchy will count on assistance from the European Union of 130 thousand euros, more than half of the total cost of the project, coming through CRESC Algarve 2020.

It is estimated that the work will be completed by the end of 2020.
