The delivery of 49 excellence scholarships to the best students of each 1st cycle course (undergraduate and integrated masters) who enrolled, in the 1st year, in this academic year at the University of Algarve (UAlg), takes place this Saturday, 9th of November, at 11:00 am, in the Grand Auditorium of the Campus de Gambelas, in Faro.
This year, the scholarships are sponsored by 44 entities that will pay in full the tuition fee for the 1st year of undergraduate and/or integrated masters, set at 871,52 euros.
All students who entered the University of the Algarve (UAlg), in first option, with an application grade equal to or greater than 17, will receive an excellence scholarship. In addition to students with a classification equal to or greater than 17 points, Excellence Scholarships were also awarded to students with the best application grade, provided that they were equal to or greater than 15 points, who enrolled in the various UAlg courses.
With this initiative, UAlg intends to motivate the best students to continue their training at this Academy, providing them with quality education.
This initiative, within a framework of social responsibility, represents an important sign of recognition of merit for the work carried out by these students, in addition to constituting a significant help for families to bear the burden of their students.
In the seven editions held (2012/13 to 2018/19), the University of Algarve, together with more than 40 companies, has already awarded 287 students. With the 2019/20 edition, the number of awarded students rises to 336, totaling support of more than 320 thousand euros
