The 4th edition of 365 Algarve runs until May 2020

The lights of LUZA and another edition of the Algarve International Piano Festival are proposed by 365Algarve for the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of November.

After two successful editions in the municipality of Loulé, the LUZA Festival (Algarve International Festival of Light) reaches its third edition with news.

This time the Algarve festival of lights will be hosted by the city of Faro. From 18:00 until 00:00, visitors will be able to «admire works by national and international artists, whose raw material is light, and interact with them», says 365Algarve.

«Ten works by national and international artists will be exhibited along the streets of Faro, “painting” buildings and filling the city with light», he adds.

The 4th Algarve International Piano Festival returns on November 16, in Portimão, with the two concerts Moonlight Over Oceans & Nations featuring pianist Adriano Jordão as soloist. The Festival begins with a concert for left hand, by Ravel, by the Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra (China), conducted by conductor Hu Youngyan.

the next day in Faro, the Moonlight Over Oceans & Nations program presents the Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra, which will perform the work Suite das Descobertas, commissioned by Teatro das Figuras to conductor and composer Armando Mota.

Armando Mota directs the orchestra, with pianist Xi Zhai as a soloist.

This work had its premiere at Teatro das Figuras, during the commemorations of the 550th anniversary of the death of Infante D. Henrique. In the first part, concert No. 2 for Piano and Orchestra, by Rachmaninof, will be performed. The concert will begin with Shostakovich's Festive Opening.

The 4th edition of 365 Algarve runs until May 2020 and the programming cycle starts from an idea of territory as a landscape on a human scale, which can be explored on foot. A concept immediately associated with Europe, a continent where connections are made at a walking distance, and which constitutes the common thread of this edition: the deep human connection to the territory, both physically and metaphorically.

There are more than 400 cultural initiatives that 365Algarve will promote throughout the region, including more than a hundred concerts, around 50 theater performances and around 100 actions related to the region's heritage, among other events.
