Americans win Six International Enduro Days, Portuguese below goals

Selection of Portuguese riders almost reached the podium in the Junior Trophy

The United States achieved the victory of the FIM World Trophy at the end of the 94th edition of the International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE), which ended yesterday at Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão.

As for the Portuguese team, it finished the Six International Days of Enduro in the 9th position of the World Trophy, the most important category of the motorcycling competition that took place this week in the Algarve.

In what is now their second win at the event, the United States got the better of ReveR8 Team Australia's Australians, who were 2nd, and Italy – FIM ISDE 2020 host – 3rd.

In the FIM Junior World Trophy category, the positions were reversed, with the victory of Australia, 2nd place for the USA, and Spain joining them on the podium in third.

But there was all the more reason for the United States to celebrate at this year's FIM ISDE, as their women's team also claimed victory in their category at the FIM Women's World Trophy.

The fourth edition of the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy saw Italy triumph over Germany and France.

For its part, in the main trophy, Portugal finished 49.08,60 minutes from the United States, winners of the event, which, for the third time, took place in national territory.

On the last day, the 312 riders resistant competed in a motocross race, which usually closes the six days of competition.

Diogo Ventura (Honda) was the best Portuguese, in 52nd position, followed by Diogo Vieira (Yamaha), in 55th, João Lourenço (Beta), in 71st, and Gonçalo Reis (Gas Gas), in 80th.

Juniors Tomás Clemente (KTM), Rodrigo Belchior (KTM) and Manuel Teixeira (Husqvarna) took the national team to fourth place, 1:17.35,65 hours from Australia, winner of this edition.

In women's, the Portuguese team, made up of Rita Vieira (Yamaha), Joana Gonçalves (Husqvarna) and Bruna Antunes (KTM), finished in 6th position, 54.06,21 minutes from the United States selection, which was ranked first.
