A regional network for self-consumption of renewable energy will be created

Ceremony starts at 9:00 am

Algarve municipalities sign, this Friday, October 18, in Loulé, a memorandum of understanding for the creation of a regional cooperation network for the self-consumption of renewable energy.

The ceremony starts at 9:00 am, at Palácio Gama Lobo.

This is a memorandum developed within the scope of the European StoRES project “Promotion of higher penetration of Distributed PV through storage for all”, financed by the Interreg MED Programme, and which aims to involve local authorities in the creation of a regional cooperation network for self-consumption of renewable energy and energy communities.

The idea is to encourage the increased implementation of photovoltaic energy and energy storage solutions in the Algarve region.

As the Algarve is a region with a high potential for renewable energy, namely solar energy, this resource can be used for the production of hot water and electricity, namely through photovoltaic (PV) technology.
