Algarve films won the National Grand Prix, five first prizes, two second places and the choice of Director of the International Tourism Film Festival – Art&Tur, which took place from 22 to 25 October, in Torres Vedras.
“Ocean – The art of dining”, by the director Eduardo de Sousa (Flavour Productions), was what stood out the most, winning, simultaneously, the National Grand Prix of the festival and the 1st prize in the Restaurants category.
In this work, the Ocean restaurant, which has two Michelin stars, is presented “in a more intimate way than a simple gastronomic exhibition”, according to the film's producers.
Also highlighted was the film “Fall in Love with this Land”, by Rota Vicentina, which won first prize in the Sustainable Tourism category and second place in Active Tourism, both in the international competition.
Nationally, two of the awards went to Tavira. The video “Tavira Genuína and Inspiring”, produced by Slideshow, won in the Gastronomy area. On the other hand, “À conquering the pau de sebo”, related to the Festas de Santa Luzia and produced by PlanoAlto, was awarded the Festival Director award.
The other two first national awards went to the films “Algarve Chefs Week – Street Food” and “Grande Rota do Guadiana – GR15”, which won, respectively, the Event and Congresses and Active Tourism categories.
The video “Algarve Bonito por Natureza – Monchique” won 2nd prize in the Ecotourism category.
An international jury, which included 25 experts from 15 countries, chose the festival's winners from over 300 entries.
