Loulé presents a biography of Sophia de Mello Breyner for the youngest

The book “Os Tempos de Sophia”, which is a biography of the author aimed at the youngest, is presented next Saturday, October 19, at 16 pm, at the Municipal Library of Loulé.

The work is by Rosabela Afonso and Sara Afonso.

Rosabela Afonso has a degree in Modern Languages ​​and Literatures from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He joined RTP in 1974, where he worked for 30 years.

In 2005, he signed a protocol with a television station in China (TVS), which he represented in several countries, including Portugal, for the production of documentaries. AND

In 2009, she founded, with a friend, ACCIG – Associação Cultura, Conhecimento and Gender Equality, of which she was president until the end of 2014. Within this framework, projects were developed called “Women in Society: Empowering to Participate”, in the districts of Viseu and Guarda.

She is the author of the Children's and Youth Collection “As Mulheres ea República”, composed of six volumes dedicated to six women that she tries to honor in this way: Carolina Beatriz ngelo, Adelaide Cabete, Maria Veleda, Ana de Castro Osório, Angelina Vidal and Emília de Sousa Costa. He also wrote the biography, for children and young people, of Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo, “Maria de Lourdes, Curiosa e Brilhante”.

She was the curator of the first edition of SAM – Semana Arte Mulher, in Portugal. She is the author of the project “Mangualde – Cidade das Histórias”. Ana de Castro Osório, considered the mother of children's literature in Portugal, is the central figure in this project.

The illustrator Sara Afonso has a degree in Architecture, finishing her course at the Institute Vitor Horta in Brussels, in 1996. In 2000 she finished her postgraduate studies in Urban Planning Law at the University of Law in Coimbra. He attended courses in Painting, Drawing and Art History at the National Society of Fine Arts.

His professional career focuses on architecture: he is CEO of Something Imaginary. The passion for the fine arts has been satisfied with painting and illustration.
