Clinical psychologist and sexologist Vânia Beliz will speak about “Affections and Sexuality in the Elderly” in two sessions that will take place on the 28th, in the auditorium of the Paços do Concelho Séc. XXI century, one dedicated to the elderly and the other for technicians.
The session dedicated to the senior population takes place between 10:00 and 12:30. Between 14:30 pm and 17:00 pm, it will be the turn of technicians who work with this population fringe in an institutional context, as well as others interested in the topic to hear the speaker.
This initiative, part of the commemorations of the International Day of the Elderly, is promoted «thinking about the myths, stereotypes and prejudices associated with sexuality that may harm the well-being and quality of life of the elderly», according to the Câmara de Lagos.
"The clarification, awareness and sexual education thus become essential for the promotion of quality of life in the elderly," added the municipality.
The guest speaker, Vânia Beliz, has «a vast experience and training in the area» and is the author of several books and has made communications all over the country.
