Renowned cancer researchers at European level will participate, until Friday, October 11th, in a meeting that will take place in Albufeira.

The event brings together the main European research centers, hospitals and universities dedicated to the oncology area: Cambridge Cancer Center, German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg University Hospital, Gustave Roussy Cancer Campus Grand Paris, National Tumor Institute of Milan, Karolinska Institute, Netherlands Cancer Institute and Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology.

For the first time, “The Summer School in Translational Cancer Research” will feature the presence of two Portuguese researchers.

This is due to a partnership with the Algarve Academic Research and Training Center (ABC – Algarve Biomedical Center), which awarded participation grants to researchers Bibiana Ferreira, from ABC, and Ana Lameirinhas, from the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto.

For a week, the best that is being done in Europe in terms of cancer research will be discussed.

The last day of the meeting will be attended by Manuel Heitor, Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education.
