CHUA users were called for non-existent consultations

The problem was already solved

Users of the University Hospital Center of the Algarve were called for consultations that, in practice, were not scheduled. The error was due to the new complementary system of alert/summons for consultation via SMS, which is being implemented and in the testing phase, which sent messages with an incorrect date to some users.

That was the case of a user from Tavira who received a message with information about the appointment of a dermatology consultation for this Monday, at 18:00.

However, upon arriving at the Hospital of Faro, realized that there was no appointment scheduled and that more people had been called for appointments that did not exist.

Source from the University Hospital Center of the Algarve explained to Sul Informação that a complementary system of alert/call for consultation via SMS is being implemented, whose testing phase started last Friday, admitting that “an SMS message with an incorrect date was sent by the system to some registered users”.

CHUA guarantees that “it promptly detected the error and, together with the supplier company, temporarily suspended the sending of SMS messages at this stage of testing.

In a clarification sent to our newspaper, CHUA “regrets what happened and asks users who have received the SMS message to ignore it”.

In case of doubt, the External Consultation Support Center (between 8:00 am and 18:00 pm) can be contacted by calling 289 002 041 or 289 002 042.
