Czech tourist injured when falling into a ravine in Ponta da Piedade

A young tourist of 20 years, of Czech nationality, this Sunday morning suffered minor injuries, following a fall «in a ravine with 10 to 12 meters», in the Ponta da Piedade area, in Lagos.

Second revealed to Sul Informação the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Faro, the alert was given at 11:54 am and the young woman «has already been rescued», finding herself safe. According to what our newspaper found, the tourist would be taking pictures when she fell on the cliff.

The removal of the young woman from the bottom of the ravine was carried out by the Fire Department of Portimão's wide-angle rescue team.

Despite having only minor injuries, the young woman was taken to hospital, after being assisted on the spot by elements of INEM.

Other means of the Lagos Fire Department were also involved in the operation, as well as the National Maritime Authority, which has jurisdiction in this area. In all, 17 operational workers, supported by six vehicles, participated in the rescue.
