Superbike World Cup expects 60 people at the Autodrome

A «memorable round» is expected

60 spectators are expected for the 10th race of the Superbike World Championship this weekend, September 6th to 8th, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão

Returning to the tracks after the usual summer break, Jonathan Rea will be the man to shoot down, he who not only leads the championship with an 81-point advantage over Álvaro Bautista, but, above all, because he hasn't lost a race in Portimão since the race. second heat of 2015, with seven consecutive victories in one of his favorite tracks.

Bautista will have an almost impossible task to keep alive the little flame he still has regarding the world title – something Ducati has not achieved since 2011 then also with a Spanish driver (Carlos Checa).

Behind him is Alex Lowes, just five points ahead of Michael Van Der Mark, in a group with very small differences in points – six riders separated by 50 points – and where Tom Sykes is also, who could debut even a new and more powerful engine on the BMW S1000RR.

The entertainment on track will not, however, be reserved exclusively for the three Superbike races – the two conventional and the shortest (Super Pole Race) on Sunday morning, as the Supersport championship is also completely open.

Led by Randy Krummenacher with a 15-point advantage over his teammate Frederico Caricasulo, the category will, as always, have arguments and spices to be unforgettable, as was the case in 2018.

In the Supersport 300 - where the Portuguese Pedro Fragoso and Vasco Esturrado will be -, the Spanish Manuel Gonzalez has a 43-point advantage in a peloton with around six dozen drivers.

Not everyone will be racing on Sunday so any mistake could mean being out of the race.

«The fight for primacy in the category where Ana Carrasco defends the historic title won last year will certainly be very exciting. The program of the Portuguese round of the World Cup will also have the presence of the Oliveira Cup's MiniGP class pilots, who will further elevate the spectacle in an extra-championship event for them and where the teachings of their 'teacher' will be put to the test», he says the organization.

Temperatures will be high throughout the three days of the track and everything has been prepared to detail so that once again the AIA will receive «a memorable round in the Superbike world championship, with just a few days before the start of the competition, only 1.000 tickets paddock are still available for purchase»

This year, the public will have a distinct access to the interior of the enclosure – it will be through the North tunnel (the end of the straight line).
