The GNR of Albufeira and Loulé counts, until 30th September, with the help of military personnel from its counterparts (Guarda Civil, Spain, Gendarmerie National, France, and Arma Dei Carabinieri, Italy) for «the sense of security of tourists».
According to the GNR, there have been "joint patrols in places and events with a high population density".
“Joint patrolling with military personnel from similar forces is an asset, ensuring greater proximity to foreign tourists, facilitating communication between them and the Guard,” he adds.
The support provided to foreign citizens in matters related to security, as well as the provision of any kind of clarification and useful information, by elements of the security forces of their country of origin, guarantees a better clarification of the procedural procedures.
This type of international cooperation, integrated in the strategy of the Safe Tourism program, «guarantees greater articulation and understanding with other social actors with responsibilities in terms of supporting and protecting tourists and promoting safety conditions favorable to the increase of tourism». concludes the GNR.
