Uninspired Farense loses in Viseu

Académico de Viseu took advantage of Hugo Marques' mistake to score the only goal of the game

Farense lost this afternoon, by 0-1, against Académico de Viseu, and fell to third place in the Second League of football. The team from the capital of the Algarve never met in the game and, even at a disadvantage, rarely managed to create any danger.

The first part was not very interesting. The rain that fell on Saturday afternoon, in Viseu, made the playing field heavy, which did not help the quality of the football played by the two teams.

The only chance of danger in the first half came a minute before half-time, when a bad cut by a defender from Académico de Viseu left the ball on Ryan Gauld, who, isolated, allowed Ricardo Janota to defend.

The rest did not do well for Farense, who, in the 48th minute, conceded the goal that dictated the final result, after a mistake by his guardian Hugo Marques.

The goalkeeper left the goal, choosing to keep the ball in play, when it was going to leave the sideline.

However, he kicked the ball straight out. Académico de Viseu took advantage of the blessing and, with Hugo Marques and the Algarvian defense out of position, quickly crossed the ball to the area where Latyr, released, hit the net.

Farense tried to react, Sérgio Vieira moved the team, but he was never able to find himself in the game.

The Algarve team added its second defeat in the championship and occupies the third position with 12 points in six games.
