David Peres and Djalmir (FC 11 Esperanças, from Faro) lost, this Sunday, September 8, the final of the National Footvolley Championship, played at Praia de Carvoeiro, in Lagoa.
The duo failed to beat Filipe Santos and Beto Correia (CD Póvoa), the current champions, but won, even so, an honorable second place.
Filipe Santos and Beto Correia won both sets (18/8 and 18/16).
The final phase of the National Footvolley Championship had the participation of 12 teams from all over the country.
Before reaching the final, David Peres and Djalmir, the former Olhanense scorer, defeated, in the semi-finals, the then five-time champions and the pair with the longest history and best known in the sport (Nelson Pereira/Miguel Pinheiro) by winning in the 'negra' with the partial (18/16, 17/19 and 12/15).
With the organization of the National Football Federation, the event had as main supporting entities, the Municipality of Lagoa, AlgarExperience, Claw, Sports Partner, MyCujoo, as well as other local partners.
