The Chamber of Castro Marim promotes, from 9 to 11 October, a free screening for cancer and other skin diseases, aimed at the entire population of the municipality.
This initiative is periodically developed by the local authority, with the voluntary collaboration of the dermatologist, Manuela Aguiar, and has allowed the detection of tumor lesions at an early stage, which are then urgently forwarded to the Hospital de Faro.
Treatment of possible precancerous lesions (actinic keratoses) is also carried out with liquid nitrogen, acquired for this purpose. This is the second action, carried out this year.
