35 sailors from ten clubs in mainland Portugal, Madeira and the Azores will compete in the National Adapted Sailing Championship, Hansa Class, which takes place between this Friday, September 27th, and Sunday, the 29th, at Marina de Portimão.

The event is organized by the Yacht Club Marina de Portimão and the Teia D'Impulsos Association, through its Vela Solidária project.

The regattas will start at 13:00, and, associated with the Championship, there will be a social program, which includes a sea food, on the 27th and 28th of September, and the awards ceremony on the 29th, from 17:00h. The entire social program will be located outside the reception area of Marina de Portimão.

According to Teia D'Impulsos, "this championship also serves as a motto for the beginning of the European Adapted Sailing Championship, which will take place in the same place, from the 7th of October". In this competition, the 35 Portuguese sailors join more than 110 sailors from around the world to compete in three different classes.

«In addition to being the National Adapted Sailing Championship, this weekend also serves as a preparation – both for athletes and for the organization itself – for the Adapted Sailing European Championship. This championship will, without a doubt, be the biggest challenge assumed in Portuguese lands with regard to Adapted Sailing», concludes the association.
