Athlete of the Clube Naval de Portimão dies in an accident in Denmark

Matthias Sandeck, 31-year-old Clube Naval de Portimão athlete died this Sunday, September 8, victim of an accident, while participating in the XXXII Euro-African Underwater Fishing Championship, in Denmark. 

The circumstances of this tragic accident are yet to be determined.

The direction and other social bodies of the Clube Naval de Portimão have already made public «express their sorrow for the premature disappearance of our athlete».

Matthias, who lived in the Algarve, was the current national runner-up in underwater fishing and was part of the team with two teammates (Jody Lot and Humberto Silva).

Isilda Gomes, president of the Portimão Chamber, has already expressed, on behalf of the municipal executive, her vote of regret to the family and friends of the ill-fated athlete, through President João Rosa.
