REPA stations close at 10:00 am and refueling restrictions at midnight

Energy crisis ends at 23:59

The Emergency Network of Gas Stations (REPA) will be deactivated today, at 10:00 am, revealed today the Prime Minister António Costa, about twelve hours after the announcement of the end of the strike.

In a public statement made at the premises of the National Energy Sector (ENSE), where he traveled this morning, António Costa also revealed that the energy crisis ends at 23:59 today, Monday.

In practice, this means that as of this morning, the stations that belonged to REPA can be used by all vehicles and have a limit of 25 liters per light vehicle, instead of 15 liters. With the end of the energy crisis, there is no longer any limit.

Yesterday, the National Union of Drivers of Hazardous Materials (SNMMP) has called off the strike, after a workers' plenary that lasted about three hours and took place in Aveiras de Cima.

Bearing in mind that this was the only union that still maintained the strike, its demobilization will allow the situation to gradually normalize.

António Costa's presence at ENSE this morning served to “evaluate the conditions for declaring the end of the energy crisis and convening the electronic Council of Ministers for this purpose”, which should take place this morning.

The government leader also said that the situation should be normalized "in two or three days".

The SNMMP and the National Association of Public Transport of Goods (ANTRAM) have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday. Francisco São Bento, president of the union, warned yesterday that "if Antram shows an intransigent posture", the drivers will be able to take measures such as "the call for strikes at overtime, weekends and holidays".
