Vila Real de Santo António, Monte Gordo, Cabanas de Tavira, Vilamoura, Albufeira (Oura and Praia dos Pescadores), Praia da Rocha, Altura, Santa Eulália, Porto de Mós, Luz and Quinta do Lago. These are the twelve beaches in the Algarve where NOS has strengthened its mobile network.
NOS concluded the increase in 3G and 4G coverage on national beaches and coastal areas, guaranteeing its visitors better mobile communications.
More than two dozen mobile network antennas were installed in the most popular bathing areas during the holiday season.
In greater Lisbon, mobile communications coverage was reinforced on the beaches of Comporta, Meco and Lagoa de Albufeira. On the Estoril line, 3G and 4G coverage was reinforced at Carcavelos beach.
The investment in the network coverage of these beaches and coastal urban areas was especially focused on areas with higher traffic resulting from the tourist influx observed annually.
According to the company, “this investment is part of NOS' mobile network expansion and modernization plan, which resulted in an increase of more than 200% in 4G capacity in Portugal. The network already makes it possible to cover 100% of national municipalities with the most advanced 4G network in the country and is 100% prepared for 5G».
