II Liga: Farense celebrates victory in debut with Alvarinho

Alvarinho left the bench to give Farense an advantage on the scoreboard

Farense started the season in the Segunda Liga with a 3-1 victory, at Estádio de São Luís, against Casa Pia. Pedro Simões, Alvarinho and Fabrício Simões scored the goals of the Algarve.

Farense even started to lose and with the goal of a well-known face. On minute 24, Luís Rocha brought down Wilson Kennedy in the area and the referee awarded a penalty.

Jorge Ribeiro, who last season represented Farense, and had a troubled exit from the club, was called to beat the maximum punishment and did not fail.

The former Farense captain started by celebrating the goal, but then ended up apologizing to the Algarve fans.

The tie only came at the end of the first half, already in discounts. Crossing from the right, the defense of Casa Pia cut, but the ball reached Miguel Bandarra, who assisted Pedro Simões for the goal.

After a balanced first half, in the second half Farense took over the game and, on 71 minutes, Fabrício Simões was close to scoring, with a great header that Filipe Mendes saved.

The comeback goal came shortly after. At 74′, Irobiso started from the left, crossed to the far post, where the newly entered Alvarinho appeared, shooting into the net.

Casa Pia reacted and had an opportunity to tie the game, in the 83rd minute, but, after a cross from the right by David Rosa, Martim Maia, at the far post, headed with a bang to the "iron".

At 88′, new threat from Casa Pia, with Hugo Marques shining, denying the goal to Tharcysio, who isolated himself in the penalty area.

In the period of discounts, Fabrício Simões closed the final result. After a long throw, the striker hired from Famalicão beat the Casa Pia goalkeeper, who missed, and quietly pushed the ball into the back of the net.
