Avenida José da Costa Mealha, in Loulé, will be repaved. This is the central artery with the most traffic in the city.
The work, which begins after the summer, «has the objective of benefiting the existing road network, namely with the total repaving of the circulation platform, correcting altimetric irregularities in the traffic lanes», explains the City Council of Loulé.
The works also include the renovation of the horizontal road marking, the improvement of rainwater drainage conditions with the construction of new drains and the replacement of existing gutters. A section of domestic wastewater collector will also be built.
The contract will cost around 184 thousand euros and has an execution period of 90 days.
Avenida José da Costa Mealha, which connects the eastern area to the heart of the city, «plays a particularly important role in the urban context, not only in terms of circulation, but also because this artery is one of the meeting, social and leisure points. of those who live in the city, being also the stage of the famous Loulé Carnival», concludes the Câmara de Loulé.
