Nuno Almeida, from the Algarve, was appointed this Saturday by the Refereeing Council of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) to direct the match that will decide the winner of the Super Cup, between Benfica and Sporting.
Speaking to the FPF website, the 44-year-old Algarvian referee admitted that he was “overwhelmed with joy and motivation” with the nomination, which he called “a high point” for which he worked “during his 25-year career”.
