Ana Paula Vitorino, Minister of the Sea, will be this Friday, July 12, at 11:00 am, at the ceremony of signing the protocol between the General Directorate of Natural Resources, Security and Maritime Services (DGRM) and the Mértola Chamber of the contract concerning the contract for the navigability of the River Guadiana that will take place at the Pomarão Interpretation Centre.
«The navigability of the Guadiana to the town of Mértola is fundamental for the development of the region and will allow for an increase in nautical tourism in the county», says the municipality, in a press release.
In the afternoon, at 14:30 pm, the official will leave the Alentejo and head to Vila Real de Santo António.
There, Ana Paula Vitorino and Conceição Cabrita, president of the Chamber of VRSA, will pay a technical visit to the interventions for the reconstruction of the breakwater jetty head and the inauguration of the new breakwater farotin.
