Lagoa is the first municipality in the country certified by the Conciliation between Professional, Family and Personal Life

The municipality intends to "make it easier for male and female workers to accompany the family on important dates"

Lagoa became the first Municipal Council in the country to receive the Certification of Portuguese Standard 4552:2016, with the implementation of the Management System for Conciliation between Professional, Family and Personal Life.

The Algarve municipality received, on July 11th, in a session held at Palácio Foz, in Lisbon, in the presence of the Minister for the Presidency and Administrative Modernization and the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality, the diploma to conclude the process. certification accredited by NP4552:2016, thus becoming the first Municipal Council in the country to receive the Certification of Portuguese Standard 4552:2016 with the implementation of the Management System for Conciliation between Professional, Family and Personal Life.

On 6 February this year, the Câmara de Lagoa formally adhered to the Pact for Conciliation within the scope of the “Program 3 in Line”, promoted by the Government of Portugal, with the objective of making conciliation transversal in Portuguese society, favoring the reduction of absenteeism, the increase in productivity and the retention of talent, also contributing to demographic sustainability by allowing people more conditions to support the custody and monitoring of the family.

The municipality of Lagoa stresses that, «with the mission of promoting a quality public service, facilitating a participatory and active citizenship through the enhancement of people's skills and the characteristics of the territory, as a guarantor of sustainable and integrated development, right from the start. which includes in its organization, through its Code of Ethics, the values ​​of equality and non-discrimination, transparency, sustainability, respect for human rights, integrity and equity».

Lagoa has been working continuously since 2013 at the level of Equality and Citizenship, with planning and diagnostic instruments that have been promoting reflection and the introduction of measures that facilitate conciliation practices.

With the implementation of this system, the Lagoon City Council says it believes that it will "contribute, through systematic procedures and continuous monitoring of its activities, to the reduction of absenteeism, increasing the satisfaction of employees, increasing motivation" and making this municipality in an “attractive place to work, which will make it easier to fill in the organization's personnel map”.

The focus of the Lagoa City Council, throughout this first three-year cycle of certification of the system, is on «increasing the qualifications and training of workers, with training tailored to their function and interests, improving internal communication of existing measures , as well as social dialogue with the primary objective of improving the quality of the service provided to citizens».

The autarchy also intends to «facilitate more time for male and female workers to accompany the family on important dates, with access to services related to the occupation of their children's free time during school holidays, discounts on the use of sports and cultural equipment».

«Improving working conditions that favor compliance with working hours, while also allowing for flexibility and various types of working hours according to the needs of the personal and family sphere of employees and female employees», the Municipality of Lagoa intends to improve its quality of life and your well-being.
